Guns in the United States account for more than 30,000 deaths every year and homicide is the second leading cause of death among 15-24 year-olds. With such high death rates, a ban must be instituted on weapons which are overpowered and which, instead of protecting oneself, harms others. Furthermore, 82% of Americans support limiting the sale of military-style assault weapons.
Since a majority of the population believes that the sale and manufacture of assault weapons is detrimental to the fabric of America, we demand that The Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 be reinstituted.
