We have now stood by and watched the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history play out in Orlando. We have had more than enough red flags and warnings to take action on sensible gun regulation.
We are all responsible, and our fellow citizens are being murdered as we stand by and allow military grade weapons be bought by average citizens, hand guns to be sold online, and gun shows to generate the fan fair of a music festival.
The first step is reinstating the Assault Weapons Ban that expired in 2004. The next is to close the loopholes that allow such easy access to firearms.
Before anything else, before addressing the mental health issues, terrorism, or patriotism, we must regulate firearms.
