By reinstating parole for non-violent federal inmates the federal government can save billions of dollars in incarceration cost.
There are over 220,000 federal inmates in the bureau of prisons, of wich 45% are non violent offenders. Each one of this inmates cost $29,000 per year in incarceration cost to tax payers.
Parole and early supervised release can save money and help the budget deficit.
it only takes an executive order to reactivate the parole commission.
