Reinstate the federally funded Safe and Drug-Free Schools Funding to assures schools are safe and staff are trained.

Funds for Safe schools have been continually reduced in the last 10 years. These funds allowed all schools to train staff, hire security and police officers, fund cameras and other security equipment, etc. Schools do not have the resources they used to have so when education funds were cut, security was no longer such a priority. Historically, this is what happens, the politicians cut programs that we really need, then a tragedy happens and we refocus on the issue. We must be proactive when it comes to the safety and education of our children.
