I served proudly in the Army during the first Gulf War. I got out and life kept me busy and was moving forward. When I went in the Army they pitched the GI Bill and College Fund, I even contributed $100 a month for my first year of service(We made what $600?) I was told those benefits would be there for me when I got out.
"In the fine print of your contract it says that if you do not use your benefit within 10 years it is FORFEITED. There is nothing anyone can do for you."
How many soldiers and veterans has this happened to? How many more will it happen to? They made changes after 9/11 to the plan and those changes benefited all soldiers after 2001. What about those of us that went before them?
Give ALL veterans the educational benefits they EARNED defending our country with their life!
