We seek to reinstate the US dollar gold standard. This limits the money supply thereby enforcing fiscal responsibility and eliminating reckless monetary policies. The Constitution defines who shall have the power to create money, what is must be comprised of, and what it shall not be. Article I, Section 8, Clause 5: The Congress shall have Power…To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures. Article I, Section 10, Clause 1: No State shall…coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debt. Federal Reserve Notes are debt-backed bills of credit, forbidden by the Constitution. Repeal the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 and put our nation’s currency back onto a gold standard.
