The petitioners believe the government has suborned human rights to institutional & political expediency as an end unto themselves.

That the White house restate a genuine & demonstrable commitment to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights & the UN Convention Against Torture.

Inclusive of but not limited to;

Every human being has the inherent right to life, protected by law; none shall be arbitrarily deprived of life or liberty, nor freedom of movement.

Not be subject to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

Is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent & impartial tribunal, in the determination of their rights and obligations & of any criminal charge against him.

The right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion.
