On September 11, 2014, Melmo was unjustly fired as the mascot of the 2015 My Lindy Kraze swing dancing workshop.
As you know, swing dance and Jazz are the major US contributions to world culture. To maintain our stature in the world, it is important that we promote the art of swing dancing. We are falling behind.
In order to maintain this culture, promoters of swing dance should not be fired from their jobs for videos they produce on their own time promoting swing dancing. Melmo created a video, on his own time, promoting swing in the United States. He was fired because of it. Protect mascots everywhere by denouncing those who punish promoters of swing dance for spreading the joy of dancing that they love.
