Re institute The National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (National SMART Grant) as well as the Academic Competitiveness Grant were both grants that helped promote the education of bright minds in universities by financial incentives in highly skilled career paths. Instituted in 2006 these Grants cut the costs of college and promoted higher learning in the sciences which positively affected the number of young men and women studying in these fields. With the rising cost of college it is the young generation that is graduating high school that have to make a decision of going into the workforce and finding insubstantial pay, or going to a university and being crushed under the weight of student loans. Bring back the grants that were discontinued in 2011 to promote (STEM)
