No more than ever, our country has become divided. We have the potential to be the greatest country in the world, but it will never happen if we cannot unite together.
The national motto "E Pluribus Unum" was adopted in 1782 by our Founding Fathers. Latin for "Out of many, one," this motto serves as a reminder to the people that regardless of our racial, religious, educational, gender, or any other differences, we all hold one thing in common- we are American.
With all of the issues currently dividing America, we need to take steps to come together and be the great people we envision ourselves to be. This may seem like a small step, but it is one in the right direction.
