The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), otherwise known as food stamps, was cut drastically in November 2013, and then again in February 2014. Food banks and other providers of last resort are stretched to their limit already due to the recession. Many of the recipients of SNAP are households with children, and many people are struggling with under- and unemployment. In this petition we ask President Obama to reinstate funding for SNAP to alleviate hunger.
