At the present time undocumented immigrants that are married to US Citizens must leave the country to adjust their status, triggering a 3 or 10 year bar on reentry to the US. This is an unfair policy, that keeps families separated from a parent sometimes for many years. Congress passed INA 245i with the intention to help prevent this separation of families, however it expired in 2001 and the public was told that they were going to revise the section and reinstate it. It is now 2015 and nothing has been done to help there families. We are asking the President to create a policy change within Homeland Security and USCIS to reinstate this section of the INA so that families don't have to be separated in order to have a spouse adjust their status.
