President Obama often speaks of how everyone should be given the best education possible. Yet, the Internal Revenue Service cut funding and eliminated the tuition assistance program for its employees. This program provided reimbursement for tuition expense employees incurred while trying to pursue an education that would advance their career with the agency. Employees of this agency are forced to take out student loans to pay for education while the President speaks about making college more affordable. Federal wages have been frozen for years and when an increase was granted, the increase was 1%. For a President who speaks of providing education to the middle-class, the largest financial institution in the world does not provide incentives for employees to attend college.
