Congress has finally passed a budget, it will cost Americans1.1 trillion dollars. It fails to provide any relief or support for the 1.3 million (and increasing by 70,000 people a week) Americans whose unemployment insurance benefits expired. However, this budget does provide 1.5 billion dollars in aid to Egypt. Why are we aiding foreign countries while we fail to support Americans suffering from long term unemployment? Congress has shutdown the government, damaged our delicate economic recovery through automatic spending cuts, but above all they've failed to propose any kind of meaningful job creation programs.
