reissue the Maya Angelou postage stamp with a quote of her own, instead of one by another author.

Created by T.W. on April 08, 2015

The postage stamp issued to honor poet Maya Angelou includes a quote that is not part of her work, and was actually written by Joan Walsh Anglund. While the error is a common one, it is disrespectful both to Angelou's work and to Anglund's rights as an author, as she did not give permission nor receive credit for the quote.

The United States Postal Service has indicated through a spokesperson that it will not reissue the stamp, but this is unacceptable. Both these writers, and the American people, deserve better. Reissue the stamp with a quote by Maya Angelou.
