Alabama is the fifth poorest state in the United States. In addition, Alabama is prone tornadoes, which require Federal assistance for recovery efforts. Alabama does not have the economy, nor the finiances to maintain financial success, without Federal assistance. In fact, recently the biggest county in Alabama, Jefferson County, filed for bankruptcy. Moreover, many Alabama residents do not have health insurance and without assistance from Medicaid many poverty stricken children will suffer. Furthermore, without Medicare many disabled and seniors will suffer, due to the lack of health insurance. Sadly, many Alabama schools lack education resources. With this said, I request a petition that Obama reject the request of Alabama residents to secede from the United States of America.
