The Director of the National Park Service (NPS) recently proposed revisions to the agency's donations and fundraising guidelines. Under the new rules, parks can directly solicit donations from corporations in exchange for a greater presence in parks to include naming rights for park facilities, corporate logo placement, and more. For the past 100 years, the NPS has been a refuge from corporate influence, remaining funded by the American taxpayer and entrance fees. Corporate commercialization and branding have no place in our national parks. The park service should remain beholden to the American people, not the highest bidder. We petition the White House to rescind these revisions and renew the push for appropriate funding levels from Congress. http://parkplanning.nps.gov/DO-21
