As people of faith and good will, we call on you as our nation's leader to reject Keystone XL and all tar sands development, and to take immediate and ongoing steps to strongly support and uphold:
• humanity’s rapid transition away from fossil fuels to renewable energies
• the rights of landowners, indigenous people, and communities in the United States, who are being exploited and harmed by fossil fuel companies
• the health of Creation, or Mother Earth
