As a nation with the capability to lead by example, we must make sure the Keystone XL Pipeline does not get built. Although The United States is riddled with pipes already, the Keystone will determine where we stand on clean energy and fossil fuels for decades to come.
Not only would farmers in the Midwest be at risk of having their land poisoned by faulty pipes, it would further prolong our efforts to be independent from foreign oil, on which we so heavily rely on. The fact of the matter is the Keystone Pipeline sole purpose is to transfer tar sands from Canada to Texas, so it can be quickly sold around the world. The benefits do not out way the negative effects it would have on our country and our climate.
