The approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline would be devastating to the environment, the people, and the economy. Not only would low-quality, high carbon oil be transported across the U.S., thereby increasing the possibility of oil spills affecting both land and water tables, but it would lead to a significant increase in carbon emissions over the next decade. Since President Obama has vocally supported the use of renewable technology and accepted that Climate Change is man-made, he should not approve this pipeline.
