Construction of the Keystone XL pipeline is not in the national interest of the United States. Not only would this put valuable farmland and water resources in danger of being contaminated by oil spills but it would further fuel our addiction to dirty fuel that poisons our air. Also the construction of this pipeline would not create the jobs we need but only create temporary dangerous jobs that are not sustainable. We need to create clean energy jobs that will employ people safely.
We must seize this opportunity to do something both difficult and necessary – we must finally break our oil addiction. We ask you to:
