The six states through which the Keystone-XL pipeline is planned have given a foreign private company, transporting foreign private goods, to be exported to foreign markets, through U.S. territory, the power to take private U.S. land!! It's more than outrageous. It's thievery by TransCanada and the politicians and courts that bent to money.
Spill prevention and response are inadequate. It will increase our diesel costs. It's detrimental to the economy. Job creation is negligible. It won't lower our fuel prices or make us more energy independent. It's an environmental disaster. The current environmental impact report is flawed.
All the above are well documented. We don't need the oil, witness our biggest export in 2011 was fuel.
The ONLY positive impact is to shareholders.
