Reject proposed amendment redefining "Milk (21 C.F.R. 11.110)" to include artificial sweeteners...these are NOT milk.

Created by D.B. on March 03, 2013

Please support the rejection of this proposed change to what defines milk.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) have filed a petition requesting that the Agency amend the standard of identity for milk and 17 other dairy products to provide for the use of any safe and suitable sweetener as an optional ingredient.

What is "safe and suitable"? Older generations talk about commercials that used to have Doctors promoting cigarettes.

Milk - whitish liquid containing proteins, fats, lactose, and various vitamins and minerals that is produced by the mammary glands of all mature female mammals after they have given birth and serves as nourishment.
