reject the TransCanada XL Pipeline permit as not in the best interests of the United States

A pipeline carrying highly corrosive tar sands across the middle of the U.S. is not good business or stewardship. TransCanada’s first tar sands pipeline spilled fourteen times in its first year. Canadian oil companies will make billions using our seaports to sell oil to foreign counties. In return we will only get a few hundred jobs, mainly cleaning up the spills. My Nebraskan grandparents told me to always protect our Heartland. They said, "When the middle of the U.S. is healthy, we are all healthy." But if this pipeline is built, we will soon have a polluted, oily path through the entire midsection of our country. Mr. President, please reject TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline permit. It does not serve the national interest in any way.
