We urge President Obama not to sign the UN international arms regulation treaty.
This treaty would require countries that ratify it to establish national regulations to control the transfer of conventional arms and components and to regulate arms brokers, but it will not explicitly control the domestic use of weapons in any country. However the language is not clear on the individual's right to own small arms in a country that signs this treaty.
We strongly encourage the administration to recognize its textual, inherent and procedural flaws, to uphold the constitutional protections of civilian firearms ownership in the United States of America. Do not sign this treaty.
