This petition is a call for the United States to rejoin the International Bureau des Expositions (BIE). The BIE is the governing body for the World Exposition (Worlds Fair). The United States has not been a member of the BIE since 2001 when Congress decided to stop funding dues required to remain apart of this organization. The United States' absence from the BIE means that one of the most influential and culturally diverse nations in the world does not have a say in the operation of this historical, educational and culturally unifying event. Nor do we have a reasonable chance to host a World Expo in one of our many great cities. Signing this petition would let our representatives know that We as Americans want to be apart of this international organization.
