Relaunch Organizing for America (OFA) as Issue-Focused Advocacy Movement for the People

Created by N.S. on November 11, 2016

Mr. President: Right now MORE than half our country is desperate to find an organization that will give us a unified, effective, and powerful voice to speak out against a political agenda of racism, misogyny, greed, and intimidation. After 2004, OFA (Organizing for America) emerged as an issue-based advocacy group that helped to pass healthcare reform and to win midterm elections by involving average citizens in community activism. I was a Neighborhood Team Leader for OFA in Denver. In CO, OFA was extremely effective and focused on reaching out to constituents in many states so that they would pressure lawmakers en-masse about critical issues. But in some states, OFA barely had a known presence. Please commit to re-energizing OFA as a national movement so we can unite and demand change.
