Relax import and safety restrictions, reduce taxes and registration fees for vehicles that promote better fuel economy.

Created by K.W. on July 26, 2012

There are many vehicles produced in the world that never make it to the US due to outdated laws.

Some of these laws were passed when Congress was backed by the auto-industry lobby who promoted the American lust for gas guzzling SUVs.

Because of this, today we struggle to pay for volatile high gas prices and we never get to see things like Kei cars that average over 50 MPG, we never get to see diesel powered cars that have better fuel economy, etc.

It's time to reverse these laws. We are not living in the times of cheap gas anymore. These laws and restrictions needs to be reversed and in addition, promote tax cuts and additional incentives to promote the sale of these cars.

And if American automakers make a cry about it, tell them that they owe us money for bailing them out.
