A 14 year old Nigerian child-bride named Wasilat Tasi'u is on trial for allegedly poisoning her 35 year old husband, and the prosecution is seeking the maximum punishment. This means that, if convicted, she will face the death penalty. This child sat silently throughout her entire trial and judges are questioning whether she understands the charges against her. In Africa and many other countries around the globe, child marriage is a huge problem.
