Mr President,
I am asking that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac be released from conservatorship and be allowed to fulfill their intended purposes. Both entities have returned all the money borrowed from tax-payers and has been feeding the treasury excessively with billions of dollars. These excess (billions of dollars) payed to the US treasury should be placed in an escrow account and be used as leverage should there be another housing crisis. Fannie and Freddie should also be allowed to strengthen, and investors should be encouraged to invest in the companies’ stocks. Fannie and Freddie are two very strong entities and can be even stronger if they are allowed to flourish.
