The secrecy surrounding the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement is in direct conflict with the principles of democracy. Leaked portions of the deal have offered a disturbing glimpse into an agreement that appears to be less about trade, and more about the wholesale transfer of rights and powers of participating nations' citizenry to corporate interests.
Attempts to "Fast-Track" its approval, while keeping it secret from those affected by it, insults the democratic process. Open the TPP to scrutiny and debate.
