Jonathan Pollard was convicted in the mid-1980's of passing classified information to an ally, without intent to harm the United States, NOT treason, and was given a life sentence. Israel was legally entitled to this security information according to a 1983 Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries, so it was NOT information that would threaten the U.S..
The U.S. has released hundreds, if not thousands, of terrorists since then, threatening untold lives for short-term goals.
The U.S. has reneged on promises to release Pollard to Israel numerous times, details of which are available at http://www.jonathanpollard.org/facts.htm.
It is time for the President to uphold the integrity to which the United States purports to aspire. Release Jonathan Pollard.
