I would like to request that you exercise executive clemency to commute Jonathan Pollard's sentence to time-served. He is currently serving his 24th year of a life sentence for an offense that has a median of 3 years. It is unjust and raises concern that Pollard has been punished and is treated much worse than all others who committed similar offenses on behalf of other US allies, and even enemies. After over two decades in the harshest of prison conditions, Jonathan Pollard is ill and his health is rapidly deteriorating.
This request is supported by former CIA Director James Woolsey and former head of the Senate Intelligence Committee U.S. Sen. Dennis DeConcini, as well as a cross section of other notable Americans, and the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations.
