Release Justin Carter from Imprisonment

Created by B.S. on July 10, 2013

Justin Carter, a 19-year-old League of Legends player, from Texas has been in jail since February 14th, 2013. For what reason, you ask? Telling an offensive joke. After a game of League of Legends with his friends, he went on Facebook and posted a sarcastic comment. I don't have the exact thing he said, but it went something like this: "gonna shoot up a school and eat their beating hearts out lol jk". Now, the woman who reported this to their police department was a complete stranger. I'm guessing she didn't know that "jk" is commonly used shorthand for "just kidding". Now, since the phrase he posted was obviously a joke, offensive as it is, he has the right to post it. Justin could face up to 9 years if found guilty of terroristic threat. This is a restriction of our first amendment.
