Full disclosure of tax returns is vital for ensuring that the American public knows, understands, and trusts their candidates for high office. Save one, every major-party presidential candidate for the last 40 years has voluntarily released their tax returns for public scrutiny. Unfortunately, it has recently come to light that IRS audits can complicate this process for the individual running for president. We ask that the administration instruct the IRS to cancel all ongoing tax audits of presidential candidates, and to pardon presidential candidates from any and all liability on their prior returns so that this information can be freely released to the American public.
