You see, the reason why there is an electoral college is because media wasn't that fast you could say back then so in order to make presidential elections educated you could say they made the electoral college. But now the media is VERY fast and VERY mainstream due to live television, radio, and the phone.
So, my idea is that people actually VOTE for reals, meaning they actually HAVE the right to vote and not have some person you don't know only someone you've heard of vote for you.
I do acknowledge that this will take a MAJOR committee meeting but I believe it is worth it.
