As John Buchan said, “The task of leadership is not to put greatness into people, but to elicit it, for the greatness is there already”, each and every citizen has a part to play in fixing our current economy, help foster more cordial relationships with citizens of developing nations (who, believe it or not, could help us tremendously in tackling 21st century global issues), and secure the most promising future for us all.
We have virtuous, diverse citizens in the US who are capable of innovation and inspiring others in social change. To channel this creative spirit, it is imperative to eliminate uncertainty which surrounds our economy and society. Government should remind citizens of the founding principles and values of our nation and urge citizens to apply them in a modern day context.
