Removal of marijuana from Schedule I under the Controlled Substances Act.

Created by D.A. on September 24, 2011

Sixteen states and the District of Columbia accept that cannabis has a legitimate medical use, but the federal government continues to unfairly recognize it as a Schedule I substance, which falsely deems it a medically-useless, highly-abused drug. Cannabis has accepted medical use in the United States, it has a lower abuse potential than drugs like heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine, and it is safe for use under medical supervision. All of these characteristics are well-documented scientifically and legally. Federal law requires the Obama administration to reclassify cannabis.
