This petition has been created to remove any official support or favoritism from the United States government. Such things include "In god we trust", as it is a form of state sponsored religion (ig. Christianity or Islam etc.) as it suggests the U.S. government recognizes a supreme being, when some religions lack a supernatural being (Jainism, also some Christian sects that take the moral teachings of Jesus and not the historical or creationist teachings) or have many (as it does not specify god or gods, just god). This violates separation of church and state, and promotes the censorship of non-god centralized religions. America is a diverse nation of races, ethnicities, cultures, and ideologies. Any state-sponsored items, like money, mottoes, pledges, or police cruisers, should be banned.
