Fairly recently, the lifetime ban on blood donations from gay donors has been reduced to 12 months. Even now, given male who had sex with another male is prohibited to help those in urgent need of blood. While we are moving forward as a nation and reducing this ban, we are not truly equal on this earth with such an abomination of a policy in place. This is a disgrace to both the LGBT community, and those with severe medical conditions clinging on to life. It is unjust to say lesbian and heterosexual couples are permitted to help society, and in the same breath disrespect a man's right to love who he choses. As a 17 year old bisexual male, I am one of the very few aware of this homophobic outrage. Thank You.
