Remove the 150 Signature Threshold for Petitions to Become Public

Created by B.L. on May 03, 2014

The goal of "We the People" is to empower ordinary Americans to have their voices heard. By enabling everyone to create and promote petitions, we all have the opportunity to raise awareness on the issues we feel are important.

However, the current 150 signature requirement makes it very difficult for important issues to gain traction. This defeats the purpose because it results in a scenario where only those who already have a broad social network can get their petitions to become public.

President Obama: Please remove the minimum threshold and make this a forum that is truly egalitarian.
