Remove the ability of banks to legally charge fees to cash payroll checks that originated from that bank.

Created by A.M. on December 19, 2013

Banks are criminals: I got shook down for a fee to cash my paycheck at the bank it originated from. Didn't even think that was legal? Wondering why it's not...

Why do I owe a bank a 1/2 hour of my labor, just to get paid from my employer?

Details:
I don't have a bank account with the institution who charged me the fee, which is how they justified charging me the fee.
I even asked to speak to a supervisor to try to waive the fee, with no resolve.
Was told they would not cash the check without charging the fee, it was policy.
I mentioned I thought it wasn't legal to charge a fee to cash a Payroll check from the originating bank.
Was told that it was policy and the institution wouldn't charge the fee if it was illegal.

These fees unjustly effect those who can least afford to pay them!
