In accordance with basic human rights and our own founding documents, the granted ability to indefinitely detain those people suspected of being or supporting enemies of the state stands in blatant violation of our national ethics.
We as a nation must hold everyone to the same set of rules. To do otherwise is to undermine the value of those rules and create difficulty and confusion about how our laws must be instituted. Secondly, to deny a group the right of fair trial is to label those so scrutinized as second class citizens of our world and this type of behavior must be eliminated from a civilized society for it is barbarous at best and tyrannical at worst.
