This petition is to serve as a demand that all varieties of cannabis, including hemp, be removed from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. Presently at least 20 states had legalized cannabis for medicinal use as a result of voter choice is direct evidence of commonly knowledge that this plant is good medicine. That the Federal Government continues to place Cannabis, a life saving medicine, on Schedule I is willful ignorance and an assault on right to life and liberty guaranteed by our Constitution.
The industrial possibilities are limitless. To source hemp as a biofuel, housing, clothing, food, plastics, among thousands of other uses is to infuse and energize our local economies and give our farmers back their autonomy. Please, for the greater good, do what's right and legalize it
