Remove all current members of Congress and ban them from reelection should they fail to avoid the Fiscal Cliff

Members of the United States Congress must be held accountable to the people who have elected them. Instead, they spend their time bickering and filibustering. Soon their self-imposed Fiscal Cliff will impose punishments on their constituents and allow them to continue business as usual. The members of Congress have failed to perform the duties of their office. Therefore, they should be removed from said office and barred for life from returning to these positions. Special elections will need to be held after the deadline to elect new members of Congress.
