Semi-automatic rifles are an antiquated military technology as they have not been primary issue military weapons since the Korean War. Where semi-automatic rifles do serve is in our police departments across the nation.
Activists have continually tried to portray our law officers as becoming "militarized," as though to portray them as no longer a civil service in support of our people and our nation.
For the president and congress to support legislation suggesting that semi-automatic firearms are "weapons of war" as Dianne Feinstein has stated is to support a countercultural representation of some of our most committed and sacrificing public servants.
Please do not misrepresent civilian weapons as miltary weapons in forthcoming legislation.
