Secession is a very serious matter. Additionally secession can legally only be raised by a state. Because the petitions that are being placed on the We the People website do not come from state legislatures and because there is no way to verify that the signers are even from the states petitioning and because these petitions are a distraction from the many concerns facing this country and because the petitions are being misreported in the news as petitions from the states when they are in fact petitions from individuals we ask that the website administrator remove all petitions for states to secede from the union from the We the People Website.
