The reference to any god is the endorsement of any and every religion that worships a god. This government was founded on secular principles. Every American has the right to practice their religion. That right is undeniable, but no American has the right to force others to abide by said religion, nor to legislate according to their religion's rules. We are a country based on common law, not religious law. Our government is not obligated and is in fact prohibited from having religious views. The endorsement of just one god is not only denying various religions exist but denies freedom from religion as well.
