Who a nation puts on their money says something about their values. Andrew Jackson was responsible for Indian Removal Act, which removed Native Americans from their homelands and forced them on a death march to territory west of the Mississippi. Honoring a president who organized and promoted genocide against Native Americans by placing him on the twenty dollar bill shames our country. I propose that we remove him from the 20 dollar bill completely and have a picture of Harriet Tubman on one side, and a picture related to the underground railroad on the other, instead of leaving Andrew Jackson on one side of the bill.
