Andrew Jackson was the war criminal who signed the "Indian Removal Act" which authorized him to negotiate the removal of native Americans from their lands. It was a voluntary removal in name only, as thousands of native Americans were forcibly removed from their homes. The "Trail of tears" was the direct responsibility of the Jackson administration. There is no longer a place in modern America for any token of respect being paid to a man whose racist actions bordered on genocide.
